The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for 512,500 Govee and GoveeLife electric space heaters after testing revealed overheating risks that may lead to fires or burns. The recalled models—H7130, H7130101, H7131, H7132, H7133, H7134, and H7135—do not meet safety standard UL 1278. Govee has received 113 incident reports, including seven fires and one minor burn. Sold between September 2021 and September 2024 on Amazon, the Govee app, and TikTok, these heaters were priced from $30 to $150.

Owners are advised to stop using the heaters immediately and contact Govee for a refund. To receive a refund, users must disable the heater by cutting the power cord, submit a photo of the destroyed unit, and file a claim on Govee's recall website. Refunds range from $31.80 to $106.63, based on the model. Additionally, 48,600 units were recalled in Canada.
