The Jackson, Mississippi City Council has agreed to a $15,000 settlement for Kenneth McClure, who sustained injuries and property damage after his vehicle was struck by a city employee in December 2018. McClure originally sought $75,000 in his 2020 lawsuit for damages related to the accident, involving Jackson employee Daniel Moore. Six council members approved the settlement, while Ward 3 Councilman Kenneth Stokes abstained. This recent decision reduces the city’s active lawsuits from employee-related accidents to 22. The settlement follows a $160,000 payout in June for a wrongful death suit involving a pedestrian accident in 2017.
