The family of an Oregon couple killed last October while cycling on the Silverado Trail in Napa has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Napa County Superior Court against the driver and the company that owns the truck involved in the accident. Christian and Michelle Deaton were struck by a piece of lumber that shifted from a passing truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while she was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she later died. The lawsuit alleges negligence by the driver, Central Valley Builders Supply, Foster Lumber Yards, and other unnamed individuals. The family is seeking unlimited damages, legal fees, and a jury trial. The truck driver cooperated with authorities after the crash, and the company expressed their condolences and stated they were investigating the incident.
